OUTDOOR PROTECTION SYSTEM
Protection Is Built in Layers
Rain, humidity, coastal air, road dust and solar heat place different demands on an outdoor screen. Final front and rear IP ratings are confirmed for the selected cabinet.

Module Surface
Waterproof potting material protects the LED lamp pins and exposed module surface.
PCB Protection
Conformal coating on the back of the PCB helps protect circuits and components.
Sealed Interfaces
Rubber rings, door seals and gaskets reduce water entry at cabinet joints.
Cabinet Drainage
Rain covers, eaves, drainage paths and weep holes are incorporated where the cabinet design requires them.

High-Performance Protection
Outdoor modules and cabinet seals are configured for rain, snow, fog and dust exposure. The original range references IP65 front protection, with rear ratings that may be IP65, IP54 or IP43 depending on heat-dissipation and cabinet design.

Double-Cycle Heat Dissipation
Airflow and cabinet ventilation manage the heat generated during operation. Site temperature, solar load and enclosure design must be reviewed for reliable use in hot conditions above 40°C.

Cloud Content Management
For networks of outdoor screens, compatible control systems can receive scheduled or remote content updates rather than requiring each display to be updated individually.
INSTALLATION PLANNING
Choose the Structure Before Finalizing the Cabinet
Installation method changes cabinet access, weight, steelwork, wind-load planning and cable routing. Structural design and local approvals remain the responsibility of qualified project professionals.
Hanging
Suspended from truss, a boom or a building structure for events, entrances and transport guidance.
Against Wall
Mounted to wall steelwork with front service when no rear maintenance corridor is available.
Inlay
Recessed so the display face aligns with the wall, commonly with front access.
Ground / Platform
Supported by project steelwork on roofs, platforms or ground-level foundations.

SELECTION GUIDE
Move From Viewing Distance to a Buildable Specification
Pixel pitch is important, but outdoor performance also depends on brightness, waterproofing, cabinet construction, maintenance access and the control system.
Use Viewing Distance as the First Filter
Original size references: under 15 m², P2.5–P5; 15–30 m², P5–P10; 30–100 m² with viewing beyond 10 m, P10–P16. Treat these as initial guidance, not a final engineering rule.
BUYER FAQ
Outdoor LED Display Questions
The original page questions are retained and consolidated where they covered the same topic.
Ask a project-specific question ↗What is an outdoor LED display, and where is it used?
An outdoor LED display is a high-brightness display designed with weather protection, dust protection and heat management for exterior installation. Applications include advertising, stadiums, road and transport information, airports and stations, shopping centers, public services, events, exhibitions, schools, hospitals, hotels, banks and other public spaces.
Is an outdoor LED display worth the investment?
In high-traffic locations, one display can rotate multiple campaigns, promote products, publish notices, support wayfinding, add building-scale light and create event atmosphere. Commercial return depends on audience, location, content, uptime and the buyer's media model; it should not be assumed from screen specifications alone.
How are programs sent to outdoor LED displays?
Synchronous, asynchronous and hybrid synchronous/asynchronous control are available. Rental screens commonly use synchronous systems for live content, while fixed media may use asynchronous or hybrid control for scheduled and remote updates.
How much does an outdoor LED display cost?
The existing page gives a broad reference of US$450–3,000 per m². Current pricing depends on pixel pitch, LED package brand, cabinet type and material, front or rear service, total area, power supply, control system, driving IC, cables and other project requirements. Request a current itemized quotation.
What is the difference between outdoor and indoor LED displays?
Outdoor screens normally require higher brightness, waterproof cabinet construction and environmental protection. Indoor displays are configured for lower ambient light and closer viewing, often using a smaller pixel pitch. Outdoor price and cabinet construction can therefore differ substantially.
Can an outdoor LED display adjust brightness automatically?
Yes. Brightness can be adjusted manually, changed on a schedule or controlled by a compatible ambient-light sensor. The method is selected with the control system.
What do IP65, IP54 and IP43 mean for an outdoor screen?
In an IP code, the first digit describes protection against solid ingress and the second describes water ingress. IP65 indicates dust-tight protection and resistance to water jets under the relevant test conditions. A cabinet may have IP65 at the front and a different rear rating where ventilation is required. Confirm front and rear ratings for the final cabinet and site exposure.
What maintenance methods are available?
Front service is used when there is no maintenance space behind the display, often on walls or recessed installations. Rear service uses a safe access corridor behind the screen and is common for pole, platform and some structural installations.
What power-supply voltage is used?
Project input is commonly configured for 110 V or 220 V AC according to the destination, with the display power supply converting to the required low-voltage DC output. The electrical design, distribution and protection must be confirmed for the site by qualified professionals.
What LED lamp brands are commonly used?
The original page lists Nationstar, Kinglight and HS as commonly available LED package options. The selected brand and package should be stated in the approved bill of materials.
What determines outdoor video quality?
Pixel pitch, viewing distance, content resolution, brightness, contrast, refresh rate, grayscale, calibration and the control system all affect the visible result. A smaller pitch increases pixel density, but the best option must also suit screen size and audience distance.
Which outdoor pixel pitches are available?
The existing range references P2.5, P3, P3.076, P3.3/P3.33, P4, P4.8, P5, P5.92, P6, P6.67, P8, P10, P12, P16, P20 and P25. Not every pitch uses the same cabinet or specification; current availability is confirmed per request.
How do I choose the right outdoor LED display?
Start with viewing distance, screen dimensions, audience position, sunlight, weather exposure, mounting method and service access. Then compare brightness, pitch, cabinet, control, power and budget. MVP LED can narrow the options from a site drawing or a simple project brief.
What should I check before buying?
Check pixel pitch, waterproofing, front and rear IP ratings, brightness, maintenance method, cabinet material, corrosion exposure, weight, control system, power design, spare parts and the exact bill of materials. Compare quotations on equivalent components rather than price alone.
How long can an outdoor LED display last?
The original page references a nominal service-life figure of around 100,000 hours under normal conditions. Actual life depends on environment, operating brightness, temperature, maintenance, component quality and usage pattern, so the figure should be treated as a design reference rather than a guaranteed calendar life.
How should I evaluate an outdoor LED display supplier?
Review relevant project cases, pre-sales and after-sales support, manufacturing experience, materials, quality-control records, documentation and the ability to support a factory visit or third-party inspection. Compare the exact LED, IC, cabinet, power, control, maintenance and packing specifications.
What cabinet materials and sizes are available?
Materials can include waterproof steel, sheet aluminum, profile aluminum, die-cast aluminum and die-cast magnesium alloy. The original page references 960 × 960 mm standard sheet-metal and die-cast cabinets, 500 × 500 mm rental cabinets and custom sheet-metal sizes. Final size and material depend on the system.
